30 days wild

Hopefully you’ll know by now through our recent newsletters, that Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust are now established friends of Ascot Lloyd, and our joint commitment to supporting stronger environmental protection, wellbeing and the improvement of public spaces for the benefit of local communities continues.

Whilst here at Ascot Lloyd, our focus is on the financial wellbeing of our clients, as spring is bringing everything to life and lockdown is being eased many people are turning more time into looking after all aspects of their wellbeing, and getting out into the great outdoors.

Wellbeing is fundamental to overall physical and mental health and a five-year study by the University of Derby* has discovered positive and enduring effects on wellbeing from connecting to nature. The report shows that people with nature on their doorstep are more active, mentally resilient and have better all-round health.

Our friends at The National Wildlife Trusts are encouraging the nation to take part in the UK’s biggest nature challenge ’30 Days Wild’ and to do something wild every day this June, building a lasting connection to the beauty and wonder of our natural world.

When you sign up to ’30 Days Wild’, you'll get a free pack of goodies to help you plan your wild month, plus lots of ideas to inspire you to stay wild all throughout June, and beyond.

The suggested activities are suitable for all abilities, ages and experience levels and range from simple activities such as walking barefoot on grass, reading a book outside or following a bumblebee, to more time-intensive activities, such as building an insect hotel or visiting a special place for wildlife. It may even provide some fun ideas for half term activities to do with children and grandchildren, either in person, or virtually.

We hope you have a wild June.
