Jan Robinson

As a Chartered Financial Planner, I advise on all areas of financial planning for individuals and corporate clients including retirement planning, investments, inheritance tax planning and specialise in pensions and retirement planning.

I have been advising clients since 2003 gaining experience in individual and corporate advice.

I have experience of working in various sized firms which has allowed me to build up a wealth of knowledge.

Here’s what clients say about Jan:

Following our introduction 3 years ago, Jan has consistently provided us with professional, knowledgeable and comprehensive financial advice always in a friendly and personable manner. Jan is always readily available to address any concerns and answer any queries or questions which may arise. We feel this is particularly important and reassuring given our advancing years!

Scott Moody

I have over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry advising in Investment Management, Retirement Planning and Inheritance Tax planning. Having SOLLA Accreditation (Society of Later Life Advisers) I’m somebody who understands the plans you need to make for your retirement years and as an associate for the Society for Trust and Estate Planning (STEP) means I am well-versed in the finer detail of trusts and taxation.

As a specialist in Court of Protection cases I can provide specialist investment management for a settlement made as a result of a personal injury or clinical negligence claim. I understand the requirements of the deputy and am able to tailor my services accordingly. Defined benefit pensions are increasingly uncommon but as a specialist in this area I’m able to advise my clients on this complex area of financial planning and whether they should transfer their pensions or not.

Here’s what clients say about Scott:

Following a bereavement, I required planning and investment advice for the inheritance which Scott helped me with. He was very attentive, patient, and understanding of the difficult circumstances at that time, always happy to talk and very clear in communication.

Caroline Castle

I have worked in financial services all my working life, and my focus has been on facilitating employee benefit within the workplace and providing guidance at the point of retirement. Today’s employees seek a greater remuneration than merely their salary, requiring employee benefits to be provided as an integral part of their role.

I work with businesses to introduce a tailored benefits plan in return for their financial commitment that delivers a cost effective yet valued benefits package. I take the time to really get to know the businesses I support to create arrangements that are welcomed by both the employer and employees alike.

Making clear the complex rules of pensions and tax and creating an understanding of how employers, employees and their families can make the most of them, is a skill that is central to my work. Our service can include presentations to prepare for retirement and one-to-one advice to employees on all aspects of financial planning.

Here’s what clients say about Caroline:

Caroline Castle, Corporate Financial Adviser and member of the Ascot Lloyd team acts as our pension and benefits consultant for the UK branch of our Company. Caroline provides excellent ongoing guidance to us and our employees. Caroline has also been instrumental in introducing effective improvements and assisting in successful implementation.

Mathew Lamping

I joined Ascot Lloyd in 2015 but have been carrying out Financial Planning for the last sixteen years. This experience allows me to say that I can help clients to secure their financial future.

I advise my clients in all areas of financial advice including Cash Flow modelling, Investment Planning, Retirement Planning, Estate Planning and Trust work.

I place great emphasis on making complicated financial planning matters easy for clients to digest. I am based in Leeds but have clients across the UK.

Here’s what clients say about Mathew:

Mathew helps us to understand the complexity of investments and pensions. He always listens carefully and advises us on the best way to meet our goals. We are very comfortably positioned in our retirement because of his help and support.

William Diggins

William likes to focus on holistic financial planning, considering all aspects of his clients’ needs, including: Retirement Planning; Investments; Estate Planning; Protection; & Tax Planning.

He believes this is important because it allows him to make recommendations that are bespoke to each of his clients and focuses on meeting each of their goals and objectives through the most efficient financial solutions, while looking at the whole picture.

William has 5 years of experience in financial services, having graduated from the Ascot Lloyd Adviser Academy. Before joining Ascot Lloyd, he spent 12 years working for Southend Borough and Essex County Councils managing Young Offenders and working in the Courts. He focuses on outstanding client service and building long-lasting client relationships in which clients feel looked-after and truly valued.

Here’s what clients say about William:

I spoke to William as I needed advice on my pensions. He was very informative and helpful and complied all the relevant information I needed.

What does a financial adviser do?

Financial advisers help people with their long-term financial planning, including investments, pensions, retirement planning and mortgages. They may also help in specialist areas like inheritance tax planning, estate planning and later life planning.

People will often go to an adviser either with a specific need or a broader goal like “I want to review all my finances and make sure I’m set up for retirement”.

Please see below for more information about how Ascot Lloyd work with you to develop a financial plan to meet your needs.

It’s all about you

At Ascot Lloyd we put you at the very centre of everything we do. Everyone is different and has their own story to tell. We believe that to provide good financial advice we must establish a trusted long-term relationship with you, recognising who you and your family are as individuals.

No one size fits all

We offer choice and flexibility on how you want to work with us, as well as peace of mind and assurance a larger firm can bring. Your Ascot Lloyd independent financial adviser will give you reliable, unbiased advice to suit you. You can arrange meetings by phone, video call or where available face to face.

Getting to know you

You need to feel comfortable and like your Ascot Lloyd adviser straight away. The first meeting is the most important stage as we get to know you. It involves a free introductory, no obligation meeting where we will get an understanding of your current situation, life goals and aspirations as well as your attitude to risk ensuring any future solutions meet your expectations.

Building your plan

Now it’s time for us to do the hard work. Your Ascot Lloyd adviser will research across the whole of the market and find the most appropriate solutions that will help you reach your financial goals. Your adviser will explain each of the solutions to you outlining the implications and choices, answering any queries you may have. This might cover how much you save for the short-term vs. investing for the long-term, or whether to invest through an ISA and/or a pension.

Once you have agreed a plan, they will then go on to hunt out the very best options for you. With your permission they will then complete the necessary administrative work to execute any recommendations.

Staying on track

The key to any sound financial plan is ensuring it performs to your expectations and reflects any changes in your financial situation. Your adviser will schedule review meetings with you, to check your financial plan still meets your objectives and reflects any changes you want to make. Of course, we’re available to talk at any time in between review meetings if you would like to.
