I provide expert advice for retirement planning, investment portfolio management, inheritance tax planning and all personal protection needs.

Through my professional connections, I have significant experience in providing business owners with advice solutions from business protection to profit extraction, culminating in business succession and exit planning.

My role is to provide my clients with long-term support, guidance and advice throughout their ever-changing lives. The importance of building a long-term relationship with my clients cannot be underestimated.

Here’s what clients say about Darren:

"My portfolio has remained fairly steady ,even through a period of some economic volatility, in particular 2008 and the pandemic and, thanks to Darren’s management of my funds, I have been able to sustain a reasonably comfortable standard of living from my investments. My grandchildren have also benefited from the Trust fund that was set up by Darren"

This area often goes hand in hand with Estate and Inheritance Tax planning and general tax planning.

I work with individual clients, their families, and business owners to help them achieve their retirement and investment objectives for the near- and longer-term future. Good advice is essential at the outset, but regular reviews and continuity is vital to maintaining relationships and achieving the best outcomes.

What does a financial adviser do?

Financial advisers help people with their long-term financial planning, including investments, pensions, retirement planning and mortgages. They may also help in specialist areas like inheritance tax planning, estate planning and later life planning.

People will often go to an adviser either with a specific need or a broader goal like “I want to review all my finances and make sure I’m set up for retirement”.

Please see below for more information about how Ascot Lloyd work with you to develop a financial plan to meet your needs.

It’s all about you

At Ascot Lloyd we put you at the very centre of everything we do. Everyone is different and has their own story to tell. We believe that to provide good financial advice we must establish a trusted long-term relationship with you, recognising who you and your family are as individuals.

No one size fits all

We offer choice and flexibility on how you want to work with us, as well as peace of mind and assurance a larger firm can bring. Your Ascot Lloyd independent financial adviser will give you reliable, unbiased advice to suit you. You can arrange meetings by phone, video call or where available face to face.

Getting to know you

You need to feel comfortable and like your Ascot Lloyd adviser straight away. The first meeting is the most important stage as we get to know you. It involves a free introductory, no obligation meeting where we will get an understanding of your current situation, life goals and aspirations as well as your attitude to risk ensuring any future solutions meet your expectations.

Building your plan

Now it’s time for us to do the hard work. Your Ascot Lloyd adviser will research across the whole of the market and find the most appropriate solutions that will help you reach your financial goals. Your adviser will explain each of the solutions to you outlining the implications and choices, answering any queries you may have. This might cover how much you save for the short-term vs. investing for the long-term, or whether to invest through an ISA and/or a pension.

Once you have agreed a plan, they will then go on to hunt out the very best options for you. With your permission they will then complete the necessary administrative work to execute any recommendations.

Staying on track

The key to any sound financial plan is ensuring it performs to your expectations and reflects any changes in your financial situation. Your adviser will schedule review meetings with you, to check your financial plan still meets your objectives and reflects any changes you want to make. Of course, we’re available to talk at any time in between review meetings if you would like to.
